Kuzma Care Cottage provides food, support, and essential assistance to individuals and families in the 60481 community—with dignity, compassion, and care.
Emergency Shelter, Rent & Utility Assistance
When funding is available, Kuzma Care Cottage may help with emergency shelter, rent, electricity, gas, and water bills. Assistance and eligibility requirements vary.
You can use ABE ( Application for Benefits Eligibility ) to apply on-line for healthcare, SNAP, cash assistance and the Medicare Savings programs with the State of Illinois.

Food availability varies with donations, funding, and community needs. A typical household receives approximately one week’s worth of meals.

Volunteer
Kuzma Care Cottage utilizes the services of over 90 dedicated volunteers putting in over 600 hours per month to process thousands of pounds of food each month. Many of our volunteers are from the local churches.

Fundraise
Throughout the year, Kuzma Care Cottage works with companies, local service organizations, and churches to sponsor events to collect staple food and raise funds that are vital to our operation.
